A Rustic Retreat Nestled on the outskirts of Nashville, Tennessee
Connecting to God’s Creation
The mission of Camp Sycamore Creek is to enrich children’s lives through God’s Creation, especially in kids without access to the great outdoors, and provide them an experience that will cultivate their physical, mental and spiritual growth.
Camp Sycamore Creek is set on 24 acres of beautiful, rolling hills, located in Goodlettsville, TN, just 20 minutes northwest of Nashville (at the edge of Davidson and Sumner counties). The campground consists of 11 cabins, a dining hall with a full commercial kitchen, a 6,000 square foot pavilion, both high & low ropes course elements, athletic field, our Nashville Predators-sponsored “Fort Gnash” playground, a gentle-flowing creek for skipping rocks & wading, and plenty of intimate, outdoor sitting spots for quiet times, classes & devotionals. The staff consists solely of volunteers, which allows 100% of contributions to go directly toward operating and improving the camp.
Over 500 people of all ages utilize the camp, annually. It’s our goal, at CSC, to provide campers the opportunity to spend a week in a safe and positive environment. We’ve heard kids say, “It’s the best week of the year!” Kids are surrounded by caring counselors and staff, and free from the negative influences that many youth experience on a regular basis, at home. We believe all people should have the opportunity for a first-class nature experience, and we strive to supply that here at Camp Sycamore Creek!
“ I feel good about myself after attending Camp Sycamore Creek.”
High Ropes Course
The High Ropes Course includes facilitated use of the Zip Line, Giant Swing, and Leap of Faith. These elements are designed to challenge your group, get them out of their comfort zone, and face their fears.
Zip Line
Ziplining is a thrilling adventure. Zippers sail 350 feet through the air on sturdy, steel cables, secured in a safety harness, and firmly attached to a specialized, zip-pulley system.
Giant Swing
Harness up and let your group hoist you as high as you want. Then yank the rip cord, when you’re ready, and experience the breathtaking 70 foot ride over the tree tops!
Leap of Faith
Ascend 35 feet, using both your hands and feet to navigate the randomness of the naturally grown tree knocks. Balance atop the tree platform, then bravely leap to ring the bell! Participants are harnessed safely to a belt system, and lowered slowly to the ground, after taking the leap.
Low Ropes Course
Low Ropes Team Building Sessions include exercises and initiatives that reveal the strengths and weaknesses of your team. Professionally directed debriefing makes this a valuable tool in building your church or organization.
Trust Triangle
Two participants balance on tight cables as they progress as far as possible, getting support only from their partner. The event calls for clear communication, trust, and a willingness to ask for what you need.
Tomahawk
Using their ingenuity and communication skills, your group will traverse cables, trees and obstacles. After finally making it to the cedar log, suspended between two trees, they must, as a group, balance themselves for ten seconds without touching the ground.
Life Boat
The team must crossover an imaginary, “bottomless pit” and secure their group on a small platform. This must be done without touching the ground or disturbing the “trip wires.”
Set on twenty-four acres, in beautiful Robertson County, the camp occupies a dining hall, eleven cabins, an open air pavilion, athletic field, creek and numerous activities for the entire family.
Cabins & Rates
The entire camp property & amenities are rented throughout the year. Don’t need all the cabins? Need all eleven? Need only a day rental? We can accommodate! Also, talk to us about taking part in one of our family camps.
